The Wizard's Cookbook: Werewolf Biscuits

The Wizard's Cookbook: Werewolf Biscuits

This was aesthetically a failure, though tasted well enough to warrant recommendation. This was a recipe from The Wizard's Cookbook by Aurelia Beaupommier for making what is described as a Black Forest-style shortbread dessert. This cookbook contains purely fairy tale and fantasy themed recipes for children from actual fantasy books.

This recipe required four pastry rings, which I did not have, so I made my own out of foil. It also calls for black/morello cherries (to make it Black Forest) but I only had maraschino.

I definitely didn't make chocolate cream the way it looked in the book but it tasted great. They were complete with the cherry drizzle and cherry on top.

We all devoured them shortly after trick or treating (using forks) with no complaints. We rated these 5 out of 5 full moons. I would love to see other attempts at this recipe. To give this one a try, go to page 117 of The Wizard's Cookbook by Aurelia Beaupommier.
